Essential Tips for Resolving SD Card Storage Issues

Essential Tips for Resolving SD Card Storage Issues

The impressive natural landscapes and smooth flight experience from Ruko drones have attracted many people to start their journey of flying drones. However, some people are frustrated that the SD card doesn’t normally store the pictures and videos. Therefore, this blog provides some tips to help you address the malfunction of SD card storage.

1. Check the size of the SD card, which cannot exceed 128GB.

When using drones for shooting, ensure the SD card capacity does not exceed 128 GB, as drones have capacity limits. (Attention: The restriction on the capacity of SD cards for  V11PRO  can be up to 256GB.) Otherwise, if an SD card with an oversized capacity is used, it may cause incompatibility issues or unstable storage. Therefore, before flying your drones, except for  V11PRO , please confirm that the SD card is 128G or less.

2. Format the SD card before use. Here are two ways to format the SD card.

A. Format the SD card via a mobile phone after connecting the drone. (recommended method)

Connect the mobile phone with the controller after pairing with the drone, open the APP control interface, click the SD card icon, and select the "Yes" option. This method is directly operated through the APP, which is simple and convenient for most users.

B. Format the SD card through the computer, and select FAT32 as the format.

If you prefer to operate through a computer, you can insert the SD card into the computer, select “format”, select “FAT32” for the file system format, and select the largest allocation unit size.

3. Check whether the SD card storage exceeds 90%.

Before the drone flies or during shooting, please confirm that the storage space of the SD card is not used more than 90%. The overuse of the SD card may affect the speed and stability of the drone, resulting in issues such as freezing and data loss when recording videos or taking photos. Therefore, ensuring that the SD card has enough space is the key to maintaining a good shooting experience.

4. Replace the SD card with a compatible one for a try.

If you find that the SD card you are currently using cannot be recognized or stored on the drone, it is recommended to replace it with a compatible one for a try. Sometimes, there are compatibility issues between specific SD cards and drones. Besides, the SD card itself may be damaged, resulting in failure to work normally. Therefore, replacing the SD card can help solve this problem.

Summary

If you have tried all the steps above but the problem persists, please record a complete video of the process that clearly shows the issue with the SD card storage, so the technical support team can conduct analysis and diagnosis and provide a solution for you. Rest assured, the exceptional 7/24 Ruko customer service is always here to ensure a smooth, amazing flight experience with Ruko drones.
